Current Work - Software Development Engineer II at Amazon (August 2019 - Present)
Throughout my tenure at Amazon I have worked in the Selling Partner Services organization:
- My team builds tools that make it easy for third party sellers to list items for sale on Amazon
- Building software at Amazon scale is a challenge because any edge case that can be imagined will eventually be exercised by our customers, so our software needs to be bullet proof
- At the scale of Amazon, it is very important to understand your hardware limits and input bounds so that a single bad input can't take down our hosts
Programming
- End User Software: I like writing software that is used by many people - I got started programming by writing browser games using Adobe Flash
- Spotify Jukebox: I wrote a jukebox application for a party I hosted. It hooks into the Spotify API and allows party attendees to add songs that will be incorporated into the playlist throughout the party. Partygoers who brought food or drinks to share received a code that allowed them to choose three songs that would be played at a random time throughout the night
